You may have seen the advertisements on TV about becoming a driving instructor and thought ‘I could do that’, but what do you need to do? Becoming a driving instructor is like becoming your own boss, you can choose your working hours and you get to meet new people every day. You can also join a driving school in Birmingham or you local area making it easy and quick to get to work, as well as helping people to learn something new.
Before you apply to become a driving instructor its a good idea to check that you are eligible; you don’t need any formal qualifications, but the Driving Standards Agency will need you to:
• Have held a full UK or European Union driving licence for at least four years.
• Have not been disqualified from driving for any reason in the four years before you start your instructor training.
• Have the ability to read car number plates from a distance of 90 Feet (27.5 meters).
• Be ‘fit and proper in the opinion of the Driving Standards Agency.
Starting your new career is easy with instructor training and whether you join a driving school in Birmingham or your local area, you will have a job for life!
